DUCKLING ROOM This week the Ducklings: Looked at books - Built with blocks and star builders - Sang and danced - Tried banging against the registers and were repeatedly told no! Counted and named colors and friends names - Rolled around on the floor - Cooed and giggled at each other. BEAR ROOM This week the Bears talked about the letter P. The Bears colored pictures of parrots and pigs. They also made handprint pineapples, with paint. Dee read the story, The Pigs Have a Picnic. They also watched the movie Ice Age while drinking ice water and they ate popcorn for the letter P! TIGER ROOM This week the Tigers learned the letter P. They talked about things that start with the letter P. The Tigers watched a movie and ate popcorn. For art the Tigers glued pink items on paper, made a paper plate pizza and colored a penguin. Other activities included playing in the gym, going to the library, practicing cutting, dancing, singing songs and playing alphabet matching. Another exciting activity was watching a video about the letter P and learning a new P song. LION KIDS The Lions were full of energy with the late start and no school day this week. While at BTCC the played in the gym and in the Tiger room. Favorites included, putting stickers on paper, building houses and garages out of magnets and filling with matchbox cars. They also glued feathers on paper and used scissors. - Valentine List - DUCKLING ROOM
This week the bigger Ducks continued to pile toys in front of the cubby room door. They are like worker ants, constantly busy, moving toys from one pile to another in the classroom! The smaller Ducks rolled around on the floor, played in the excersaucers, and sat in the highchairs watching the bigger kids. LION KIDS The Lions were full of excitement with school being cancelled Thursday and Friday! They played in the gym, built with Lincoln logs, magnets and drew and cut out pictures. The Lions also played card and board games. BEAR ROOM The Bears talked about owls, oranges, and their favorite-Oreo’s! The Bears worked on their fine motor skills, by tearing paper into the tiniest pieces they could and then glued them on the letter o. They played Ring around the Rosie and listened for the o sound in Rosie. The Bears also fingerpainted, colored and put together puzzles. TIGER ROOM This week the Tigers learned the letter O. They colored and glued cheerios on an octopus and made oceans. Other activities included playing alphabet bingo, ABC popsicle matching, building with magnets and playing with Mr. Potato Head. The bigger Ducks built with mega blocks, connected star builders, rolled balls back and forth, looked at books, repeated names and words and walked backwards. They also like to pile all the toys in front of the cubby room door. The little Ducklings rolled around on the floor, played in the excersaucers, and snuggled with their teachers. TIGER ROOM Last week the Tigers learned the letter M. They made a mouse, colored an m & m, watched Madagascar, played a memory game, and looked at books. This week they learned the letter N. They colored a nurse and made a bird nest with paper and glue. Other activities included playing with moon sand and play dough, dancing, free playing and singing songs. MacKenzie also brought in a big ladybug pillow, that the kids love to pounce on when they are supposed to be sitting comfortably looking at books! BEAR ROOM The Bears have been busy the past few weeks. They made handprints in plaster and gave them to moms and dads as Christmas gifts. The week of New Years the Bears made hats and dobber painted. This week they are working on the letter N, last week was letter M. They looked at flash cards and tried to think of words beginning with each letter. The Bears have also been daydreaming of warmer weather, the playground, and the sandbox! Dee is ready for winter to end! LION KIDS The Lions played games in the gym a couple days after school. In the classroom, they built with magnets, drew pictures, zoomed cars, and played hiding games. There was extra excitement with school being cancelled Friday! In the gym some Lions played kickball, while others went bowling. |
