This week the Tigers learned the letter K. For art they dobber painted a K shape, colored a kitten, and made Christmas ornaments with glue and glitter. Wednesday the Tigers helped MacKenzie put up a Christmas tree. The Tigers have also been writing their names, building with magnets, stringing beads, and drawing on the chalkboard. We were lucky to have a couple nice days to enjoy the new playground sets!
BEAR ROOM (2’S)
This week the Bears were excited to decorate their room for Christmas! For art the Bears made Koalas, dobber painted a kite and colored kittens. Miss Patty came to the classroom and read a story with a bear puppet on Thursday, the puppet was quite the hit!
The Lions have been cutting and gluing paper, playing with army guys, magnets and building with blocks. Many of the boys tend to play a little rough with the daycare toys. They like to toss things in the air and zoom the cars as fast as they can and see if the flip, break the magnet tower or hit something. I am repeatedly redirecting them to not use they toys that way. It is a tough situation, because they are trying to have fun, but it is ruining our toys, and could hurt other children path of the toy. The Lions have taken turns going to the gym and out on the playground after school, where this kind of play is more acceptable.
